Madtvs Lauren Dombrowski dies
Producer began her career as stand-up comic
Lauren Dombrowski, co-executive producer and writer for “Madtv,” died from cancer Oct. 8 in Los Angeles. She was 51.
She began her career as a stand-up comic and sketch comedian and was one of the few women who performed regularly in Boston’s comedy scene alongside friends Steven Wright, David Cross and Denis Leary.
“Lauren was one of the funniest people ever to grace this earth,” said Leary. “She made me laugh out loud every single time we saw each other.”
After leaving Boston, Dombrowski moved to Los Angeles and joined the staff of “Madtv” where she served as writer and co- exec producer for 11 years.
She is survived by her husband, Marko Babineau, three sisters and her parents.
Donations may be made to The City Of Hope, 1500 East Duarte Rd., Duarte, California 91010.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, 17190 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades.
